Christmas is not too far away and on campus we’re already getting into the festive spirit! This afternoon we held our Christmas Fair in support of local crafters and our own creative staff, offering a selection of handmade goods in the RFA Exhibition Space.
Lesley Spenser, the event organiser, commented on the success of the event. “We've been running the Christmas Fair for seven years now and with each year it's great to see the talents of so many crafters, staff and students alike. It's also great to see the turn out of support from students who come to purchase their Christmas gifts.”
At the event there were wreaths, wooden reindeer and Christmas cards available to buy. Craft seller R&R Jewellery spoke about their bespoke personalised and bridal jewellery, explaining how the pieces are "resin made, and designed in moulds" to create colourful and unique pieces of jewellery, perfect for gifts.
Students were also at the event, selling goods. Louise Scott, pictured below, was representing Huntress Herbal on behalf of fellow student, Francesca Grieve. The stall sold a variety of health and beauty products such as an aloe vera toner and body glow bar, all using natural ingredients. Louise spoke about the benefits of the products and how "great they are for the skin".
Staff and students alike had a wonderful time at the event and it was lovely to see such a great turnout in support of home grown businesses.
